The MAP (Associated Physicians in Clinical Pathology) is founded in São Paulo by two professors at Escola Paulista de Medicina, Dr. Humberto Datta Son and Dr. Raul Dias dos Santos.


Prof. Dr. Caio Auriemo joins the company.


The company is renamed Delboni Auriemo and begins the computerization process of the units.


Delboni Auriemo is the first laboratory in Brazil that creates a Technical Operating Center (NTO), especially developed for computerized and centralized processing of laboratory tests.


The brand Lavoisier is integrated into the company.


Investment funds managed by Pátria – Banco de Negócios invest in the company, and it is renamed Diagnósticos da América. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Caio Auriemo, the number of units reaches 59 and the number of diagnostic services 4,300 per day.


The main laboratories in Rio de Janeiro are integrated in the company: Bronstein, market leader, and Lâmina, references in the hospital and outpatient areas.


The Club DA is created, an exclusive and personalized service concept in Diagnostic Medicine.


Acquisition of the laboratories Curitiba Santa Casa - a company from the State of Paraná with 50 years of tradition in Diagnostic Medicine – and CRL (Centro Radiológico da Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro), one of the most reputable clinics in the area of diagnostic imaging.


DASA is the first healthcare company to go public, with its shares listed at the “Novo Mercado” of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (“Bovespa”). In the same year, the São Paulo laboratory Elkis and Furlanetto, with a tradition of 37 years, was acquired.


Booming, DASA invests the funds raised from the share issue in the acquisition of the laboratories Pasteur in Brasília (Federal District), Image Memorial in Salvador (Bahia) and Frischmann Aisengart in Curitiba (Paraná). In the same year, the integration of laboratory Alvaro in Cascavel (Paraná) marks the company's entry in the diagnostic support market.


DASA becomes a company with stock widely-held at the stock exchange. In the same year, it acquires laboratories LabPasteur in Fortaleza (Ceará), MedLabor in Brasília (Federal District) and Las Palmas (Tocantins) and Atalaia in Goiânia (Goiás).


Through investing R$ 400 million in expanding its infrastructure and in new acquisitions, DASA has now 296 units across the country. The acquisition of the laboratory CientíficaLab Lab (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais) allows for serving the public sector, repeating the strategy of service for all social classes.


With the acquisition of Maximagem in São Paulo, CEDIC and CEDILAB in Cuiabá (Mato Grosso) and Unimagem in Fortaleza (Ceará), DASA is now operating more than 300 units in 13 Brazilian States and the Federal District. In this year falls also the appointment of Marcelo Noll Barboza as CEO of the company and the launch of the Portal do Conhecimento Médico (Medical Knowledge Portal), an important online tool addressing physicians.


Diagnósticos da América presents its new brand and is henceforth called DASA, as it had already been known on the market. CientificaLab is awarded the contract by the Government of Rio de Janeiro State to operate the 1st Mobile Computed Tomography of Latin America.

Prof. Dr. Caio Auriemo, the founder of the company, prepares his succession and leaves the Board of Directors. In order to strengthen the medical team at the DASA management, Dr. Giovanni Guido Cerri and Dr. Renato Mendonça, two of the most respected Brazilian radiologists, are now members of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Board, respectively.


The company acquired 100% of the share capital of the laboratory CERPE, located in Pernambuco.

The company creates the Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa DASA (DASA Teaching and Research Institute), a non-government and non-profit organization. DASA is also part of the Associação Brasileira de Medicina Diagnóstica (Brazilian Association of Diagnostic Medicine) (ABRAMED) that aims at promoting the exchange among private auxiliary diagnostic service organizations, committed to ethics and quality of the services provided to the community.


DASAPAR, a direct subsidiary of DASA, absorbed the MD1 Diagnósticos S.A., which consolidated its growth strategy and strengthened its operations in several Brazilian States.

Moreover, the company acquired 100% of the share capital of CYTOLAB and 80% of PREVILAB, clinical analysis companies located in São Paulo upstate.


Dickson Tangerino is appointed CEO of DASA. The executive was chosen by the Board of Directors of the company because he is very experienced in the health area, in addition to other segments, such as finance and human resources.

The year was also marked by the start of the operation of one of the largest conveyor belts in the world that is 100% automated and can manage about 12 thousand tubes per day and process four million exams per month. Therewith, the Technical Operating Center (NTO) of Rio de Janeiro becomes the most modern one of Latin America, and one of the most modern ones in the world.


The 2nd conveyor belt of the Technical Operating Center of Duque de Caxias, in the State of Rio de Janeiro, was opened. Thus, the entire technological contribution planned for this Center has been completed, making it the most productive one.

Moreover, the laboratory genetics center, responsible for the conduction and execution of a more complex mix in the fields of neonatology and medical genetics, went into operation.
